Use of AI In the Future

It is 2036 and I am currently working for Apple as a Mechatronics Engineer. I basically design, build, and deploy automated, robotic, and software, and mechanical integration. I work in cross-functional teams to automate product testing and validation.

My key responsibilities are ATE development, robotic solutions, metrology and calibration, and system integration, which all require technical skills such as Python, 3D/2D CAD, etc. But I want to talk about how AI has impacted my daily work routine here in Apple. I am not complaining but it is very possible that they don’t really require people to work or design these new apple products now with these advanced AI software and systems that could do all the work and communicate much more effectively. We are talking about AI’s actual impact in everyday work in a much more profound manner, I mean now there are these AI tools that would be of assistance to our engineering design such as AI design software that is available in Autodesk CAD. AI like Allegro X AI is an AI-powered simulation tool that predicts how engineering designs will behave without running long, complex calculations every time. It learns from previous physics simulations and can quickly estimate things like stress, heat, or vibration in a system. For mechatronics engineering, this helps students and engineers design robots, motors, and electronic systems faster and more efficiently because they can test many design ideas in a short amount of time. In the next 10 years, AI will likely become much more advanced and widely used in engineering. It may automate repetitive tasks like running simulations, optimizing designs, and analyzing data. While AI might reduce the need for some traditional engineering tasks, it probably will not completely replace engineers. Instead, engineers will work alongside AI tools, focusing more on creativity, problem-solving, and system-level thinking while AI handles calculations and data-heavy work. I might even say that AI could be like a work partner as if it were a person, a coworker basically.

Where You See Yourself In 10 Years

I would see myself having a construction company even though it’s not related to
engineering, that’s what I see myself doing in 10 years. But also I would say that this goal is like
shared with my father, so I would say that I would be working as designing plans for buildings in
construction, so I don’t really know right now where I would be doing this but that is the job I
would be working or either designing electrical system for buildings as well. The bigger project
that would be working and would like to work on is probably right now the new Etihad Park
stadium next to Citi Field, just being able to work on creating building plans for stadiums would
be amazing really. The company that I would be working for if I were to create the designs for
electrical systems for buildings would be Burn and McDonnell, that would be a company I can
flourish and grow, and not only that but also have hands on experience for a much more efficient,
accurate and safer plans on design for many buildings. As of right now, I would say that the
dream I have had for kids is now my goal that even slowly but surely I will achieve this. Every
year I will gain new experience by working on construction, understanding different view points
on how engineers’ plans fail and need adjustments towards building plans. So that is my dream
working on big building projects that are unique in contrast to standard buildings, and the
company I would be able to work for and do these things is Burn and McDonnell. That would be
my dream engineering project I would work on in ten years and work for an electrical engineer
company like Burns and McDonnell
