Reflections

Reflection of My Intro Letter
Overall, this writing assignment has benefited me by allowing me to add my own cover letter and by fixing some of the identified issues. It was pretty fun writing about myself. I could have added more goals to the letter, but I’d say it’s ok. Apart from that, it shows my character, my background, and past experiences that have been building up towards college right now. I would say I organized everything greatly, and as well with its structure, it shows that professionalism.
The ACE program that was during my high school junior year, during a school program in Brooklyn, NY, was one of the coolest and the best learning experiences I have ever had, especially since I was basically working in engineering of a variety of fields, such as sound engineering, mechanical, structural, electrical, etc. I was in the civil engineering group in which we formulated a plan for the BQE lid project, which is also one of the greatest projects or concepts I worked with kind of, kind of. Even if I wasn’t shown everything in detail, they still showed their ideas, and we showed ours. It was even more fun to synthesize our ideas into one. And also that some of my friends were there to experience it with me as well. I chose this experience because it is mainly focused on engineering and planning, with architects and construction workers.
In Newtown High School, this one was all over the place, but the majority was spent on only AutoCAD and drawing plans of buildings or houses. So I am very familiar with that application and how it works, and I worked on many projects in my high school years. I chose this also for my letter of intro since it shows my education and experience. And also, it’s very relevant to the position I’m working towards. Through working with AutoCAD, I learned how to read and create technical drawings, follow measurements, and pay attention to small details. These projects helped me develop patience and discipline, especially when revising designs or fixing mistakes. Even though this experience was more architectural, it still connects to engineering and design, which is why I felt it was important to include in my introduction letter.
Overall, reflecting on my introduction letter helped me see how my experiences from high school connect to my current position as a college student. This reflection also helped me understand that everything I have done so far has been building up toward my interest in engineering. Writing this reflection allowed me to explain my choices and show why these experiences mattered to me. It also reinforced the importance of being organized, professional, and clear when writing about myself and my goals.

Reflection of Traffic Light Technical Description
This project overall was very interesting and helpful, I was learning new things along the way. I didn’t know anything about the traffic light and its design and how much of an advancement it was from the beginning to now really. From being manually gas controlled device in which it controls traffic for horse carriages, to now controlling traffic through the streets of the US, maintaining cars, trucks, any type of road vehicle to respect traffic laws that also shows on how significant this device is for not only controlling traffic but also leads to less altercations between other vehicles and pedestrians that could result to injuries or even death. But that is if the traffic light was not placed in every street, to regulate traffic and lessen the chances of injuries. I learned a lot about the history of the traffic light as well as the components but apart from that the structure and organized aspect of this assignment in which I first created a table of contents helped me stay organized throughout the whole paper. Having clear sections such as the history and significance, components, conclusion, and reference page made it easier for me to explain the information in order and not confuse the reader.
This assignment also helped me realize that technical writing requires being clear and direct when explaining how something works. Overall, this project helped me better understand the importance of the traffic light and also improved my ability to organize and present technical information in a structured way.

Reflection – Lab Report Analysis
This Lab Report assignment in which we were supposed to pick two lab reports and analyze and write on each section of a lab report. From the Title to Result and or References. I learned not only on the different sections there is in a lab report and how significant each part is towards your work and how you explain to your audience. There is a structurally organized way to write these lab reports in which it would be easier for other people that relate to it or not would find it easier to understand and interpret. Every single key component of a Lab Report is important, since it first determines how well you communicate through your writing, and if you can reflect, understandability and the ability to persuade people to agree and follow with your findings. This assignment overall was a learning process, so when writing about each section that was analyzing the abstract or introduction, each lab report did clearly state its objective and explained their findings. But also not only was this assignment new to me, but I know I will have to utilize this new information/skill for me to be able to write my own lab reports in the future. So it’s not only useful but it’s a way on how engineers express their project/findings through writing. I would say that I should have separated the two lab reports and not make it into a one big lab report, and fix the structure and clearly state each paragraph’s section. Their is definitely more issues in my lab report and details that I forgotten but overall a great assignment and would practice more on writing lab reports.

Reflection – Group Project
This group project overall was actually a learning experience and as well as great, I learned a lot while also putting into action the new set of skills I learned from this class. I have this idea/concept on what a proposal and how you put that innovation out to the public and how you would have to explain it. And also something significant that I got out of this group project as well as changing my thinking in innovation is that the innovation itself isn’t significant but the research and data that is given and explained, the cost and estimates, basically the proposal is very important since it has all the details and how its explained through written form. My peers were very involved in every aspect of the brainstorming of ideas of what the project was going to be to make the presentation of the group project, everyone had very great ideas on what alternative project proposals were going to be and nearly all of them were for the public. The innovation itself that we proposed was actually a very great idea although I don’t really see impacting in a global scale, for their to be much less litter and grange out in the streets, and any public area really, it would be also implementing stricter regulations and even fines, and in innovating the garbage lids, I would say changing everything to even the garbage trucks and the system it has to collecting garbage. The idea of this device that functions in which it would determine the overflow of garbage in these bins that residents or any type of establishment would be amazing for like only the people live
